Course Objectives:
• Required course for individuals to have taken prior to taking Water Distribution or Treatment License examination effective January 1, 2003 if you do not presently hold an active water license.
• To educate and familiarize individuals with basic math formulas needed to operate your water system and to assist you in taking water examinations.
Who Should Attend:
All individuals who are planning on taking a water examination for the first time must have attended this required course before sitting for a water certification examination. Also anyone wishing to refresh their mathematical skills.Materials needed:Calculators, pencils, paper

• Basic calculator operations • Basic Arithmetic Practices • Conversions and Formula Sheet Familiarization • Basic Rules for Solving Equations • Proper Identification of Basic Formulas • Calculating with Decimals • Converting Inches to Feet • Rules for Rounding Numbers • Working with Percentages and Averages • Calculating Areas • Calculating Volumes • Calculating Velocities and Flow Rates • Calculating Detention Time • Calculating Chemical Dosages
Credit: You must attend the entire 8-hour course to receive a Certificate for attending BASIC WATER MATH.

Applied Math
Course Objectives:
• Required course for individuals to have taken prior to taking Water Distribution or Treatment License examination effective January 1, 2003 if you do not presently hold an active water license.
• To educate and familiarize individuals with basic and applied math formulas needed to operate your water system and to assist you in taking water examinations.
Who Should Attend: All individuals who are planning on taking a water examination for the first time or individuals with D-1 or T-1 upgrading their license must have attended this required course before sitting for D-2 thru D-4 or T-2 thru T-4 water certification examination. Also anyone wishing to refresh their mathematical skills.
