Overview
Southwest White County Water (SOWCO) is seeking an experienced and dedicated General Manager to oversee all aspects of system operations, personnel management, budgeting, and regulatory compliance. The General Manager will provide strategic leadership, ensure efficient service delivery, and maintain SOWCO’s commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality drinking water to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and overall system performance of the utility.
- Manage and supervise staff, contractors, and field operations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor annual budgets and capital improvement plans.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal water system regulations.
- Coordinate with engineers, regulatory agencies, and the Board of Directors on projects and system improvements.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and operational documentation.
- Represent SOWCO in community and industry meetings, fostering strong public and professional relationships.
- Provide effective leadership and ensure a culture of safety, accountability, and customer service.
Qualifications
- Experience in the water utility or related public works sector.
- Valid Arkansas Water Operator License (Class 4 preferred), or ability to obtain within acceptable time frame
- Strong knowledge of water system operations, budgeting, and compliance.
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in utility management software, Microsoft Office, and related applications.
