Newly Appointed Rural Utility Services Administrator Brandon McBride & Jacqueline M. Ponit-Lazaruk Assistant Administrator for Rural Development’s
Water and Environmental Programs Visited Arkansas Rural Water Association Dale Bumpers Training Facility
Brandon McBride, recently appointed as Administrator of the Rural Utilities Service, Department of Agriculture served as a Senior Professional Staff on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, a position he had held since 2009. Prior to this, he served as a Legislative Assistant for Senator Blanche Lincoln from 2003 to 2009. From 2001 to 2003, Mr. McBride was the Grants Specialist for Senator Lincoln. Mr. McBride received a B.A., B.S., and M.P.A. from Arkansas State University.
On Thursday, May 21, 2015, RUS Administrator Brandon McBride and Jacqueline M. Ponti-Lazaruk Assistant Administrator for Rural Development’s Water and Environmental Programs toured the ARWA Dale Bumpers Training Facility and discussed the many programs that RUS/USDA provides to systems. They met with ARWA staff and got to view two different training sessions being conducted at the ARWA training facility: one on Wastewater Microbiology, and the other was a water training course on Advanced Distribution Training.
While there, ARWA showed them the various pieces of equipment that ARWA has available for water and wastewater systems to use in their time of need.ARWA was very honored to have the newly appointed RUS Administrator, Brandon McBride who is a graduate from Marshall, Arkansas where his family still resides, and Jacqueline M. Ponti-Lazaruk, Assistant Administrator for Rural Development visit to discuss the funding they provide to the State Rural Water Associations for Circuit Rider, Wastewater Technician, and Energy Technician programs throughout the nation.
They were in Arkansas to meet with the numerous partners that USDA works in conjunction with and to visit some of the projects they have funded recently.
